Nick just asked our ENG 310 class to write a response to someone critiquing our favorite tv show.  It just so happens that I spend a good hour last night watching LOST, which is high praise for the show right off the bat because I hardly ever watch TV.  The clencher moment in the episode for me last night, the moment at which I literally exclaimed to our friends, “I love this show,” was when Sayid took out three petty mobsters and then discovered that they were holding a hostage.  Opening a walk in refrigerator (which was cliche mobster hostage/torture territory), Sayid’s gaze falls upon Jin, whom he doesn’t know–but we do.  Who else would be mixed up with the mob?  This show beautifully weaves its character’s lives and narratives together.
